HAL is a lighting device designed to transform space into a stage—a theater of everyday life, defined by planes of light, accent points, a neutral and homogeneous background, and characters who move through the space, assuming different roles and hierarchies. This simple lighting system has the power to completely change how spaces are experienced.
Like in a theater production, light in HAL clearly defines the relationships between objects and their roles.
HAL is a modular lamp capable of creating simple, repeating geometric forms in space, either as a backdrop or as a focal point.
Designed for workspaces and retail environments, HAL integrates multiple types of lighting: diffuse and spot. Inside, it conceals a focused light source that pierces the luminous surface with a beam, blending various intensities of light. Its technological core evokes a theatrical backstage, the iconic scenes of Bob Wilson, and the mysterious aesthetics of Kubrick’s films.
HAL is both method and intuition—a screen that illuminates the space and a spotlight that highlights key elements, balancing between neutral reality and staged fiction. It creates theatrical settings for everyday life.
A device of the stage, an absent presence, HALprepares the space to be inhabited, much like a backstage waiting to bring life to the scene.
