In the courtyard of Via Brera 5, various objects have been set up to represent a television set. Spaces, screens, lights, are the elements to be recognised in order to feel part of an image that has its roots in the years of the economic boom, when the carousel on television promoted the best products of nascent Italian design and Raffaella CarrĂ ’s sketches went crazy. The installation was designed to enhance Italian Echoes, the project to re-edit iconic lamps from the historic iGuzzini archive. For the re-edition of Polsino by Gio Ponti, Zurigo by Luigi Massoni, Nitia by Rodolfo Bonetto and Sorella by Harvey iGuzzini, a wooden base was specially created to symbolise the roots of the company’s design and the timeless drive that the earliest examples of iGuzzini production still exude.

In addition to recalling iGuzzini’s beginnings and recovering the historic pieces of the collection, the installation tells the story of the complexity of the new projects, defining a space without lamps but animated by the stimulating presence of light.

“The installation at Brera is the construction of a rebus that each visitor is invited to decipher. Once the contents and themes of a project are assembled, I feel the need to present them in a way that remains open and to be defined. The installation for Re-Future wants to be a device capable of activating the images of a backstage where past, present and future history intertwine. ”
