Palazzo Spiga 26: A Model of Refinement Through Materials

In the heart of Milan’s Fashion District, the project at Via della Spiga 26 breathes new elegance into Palazzo Pertusati, a former representative building now home to the prestigious Kering Group’s Milan offices.

The magazine “Ceramiche” has dedicated an article to the exquisite materials used in the project, which reflect the delicate craftsmanship at the core of the building’s regeneration. This urban renewal project revitalizes a space of great significance in Milan’s cultural landscape, the epicenter of style and the globally renowned “Made in Italy” brand.

A thorough study of the building’s history and context is evident in the selection of materials and restoration techniques. The caryatids that once adorned the main façade inspired the choice of an elegant glazed terracotta for the exterior cladding, while the flooring pattern in the internal courtyard terraces features a soft, calibrated herringbone design.

Scandurra Studio’s intervention strikes a balance between conservation and innovation, reflected in material and color choices that lighten the building’s volumes and offer a contemporary reinterpretation.

Ceramics play the starring role in this urban regeneration project within Milan’s fashion quarter, celebrating the craftsmanship of the world’s great fashion houses with a refined aesthetic and formal elegance.
