Fludd wins at the Global Design Awards – Prize Designs Lighting
Light and matter might seem in antitheses: one recalls the sense of sight, the other to the sense of touch. Fludd is an exercise in contamination: it uses matter, solid and tactile by nature, to channel, define and diffuse light to its fullest potential.
A winner at the Global Design Awards in the Prize Designs for Modern Furniture + Lighting category, Fludd is a design lamp inspired by the mystery of luminous alchemy, in a tribute to the scientist and philosopher Robert Fludd.
The lamp possesses two coexisting souls: the outer shell looks like a thin slab housing the light fulcrum, like a transparent halo that blurs the outer boundaries to highlight the source, the core of the product.
Its aesthetic simplicity unveils extreme lightness, capable of forming a new domestic space, thanks to the homogeneous diffusion of light that is transformed into an iconic and almost immaterial symbol.
