Vittorio Veneto

Scandurra Studio partook in the inauguration of Deloitte’s new headquarters at Via Vittorio Veneto 89 in Rome. Two years after the relocation of the Milan office to Corso Italia 23, the building that will house Deloitte’s Roman offices is the result of a redevelopment project by Scandurra Studio of a palace dating back to the 1920s, designed by architect Carlo Broggi.

The intervention aims to merge the functional concept of a modern building with a purely architectural approach, designed to highlight the classicism of Roman tradition. Starting from a study of Broggi’s original drawings, Scandurra Studio reinterprets the spaces with a forward-thinking approach, redistributing the interior areas into open, permeable environments that interact through an internal courtyard and a large, transparent lobby. The new configuration remains faithful to the original design, already intended as an office structure, enhancing its functionality and usability. The desire to maintain the building’s original character and elements leads the intervention towards improving the readability of the pre-existing spaces, innovatively and coherently responding to the company’s new needs.

The focus on livability and spatial distribution allows for the experimentation of interconnected spaces, which, through the specificity of the materials used, act as an internal link, providing brightness and airiness to the structure.

The heights are accentuated by large openings and walkable glass roofs, connecting the internal courtyards with the surrounding spaces, from the basement to the upper floors. The permeability of the new design defines not only the relationship between space and individual, now essential for offering stimulating work environments, but also the connection with the city, which ideally passes through the brickwork structure to access and actively engage with the internal setting.

The benefits of the intervention positively impact the perception of the workplace, now seen as an opportunity for meeting and sharing, fostering a sense of community and belonging that is fundamental for building a strong corporate identity.
